We´ve been bunkering ammonia for almost two years, and reduced filling time from 14 hours to 2 hours.

Even though ammonia is a future fuel, we´ve already been handling it at the Energy House for years.

Due to many ongoing tests demanding ammonia, we need to bunker up with more fuel almost every week.

The Alltec-team have gained valuable expertise, making filling the 13 tons of liquid ammonia safer and much more efficient.

The first time we did the operation, it took 14 hours. Now, we´re down to 2 hours. During these two years, safety has always been our number one priority. To date, we´ve logged ZERO safety incidents. 🤝

By the way, did you know that the three most promising ways to use ammonia as a marine fuel are all being developed in the Energy House right now?

  • Wärtsilä and its partners are testing ammonia in a combustion engine
  • Alma Clean Power is developing a high-temperature fuel cell system
  • Amogy recently set sail with the world´s first vessel running on ammonia with their Ammonia cracking system – tested and developed at the Energy House
